Blogging from A to Z with The Private School Mom : I is for Instagram

Cell phone with instagram on a notepad with a penI’m an Instagram Star! I’ve gotten TENS of likes on some of my pics. Ok, maybe not tens, maybe around 10. We could even say 10ish. You’ve got me, some of my Instas have not even received ten, but that doesn’t make me any less famous than Kylie Jenner. They say age is just a number. Well, I say the amount of Instagram followers is also just a number.

KYLIE IS BETTER THAN ME IN EVERY WAY

What does Kylie have that that I don’t except age, beauty, money and an amazing marketing team? With all of our differences, Kylie and I are more alike than different. One day she will also be a private school mom. When that happens, she’ll be the one coming to me asking if the birthday cupcakes need to be nut free.

What’s that? You want to help with Teacher Appreciation Week so the teacher will assign your daughter the most coveted of all the classroom cleanup jobs, sweeping the classroom at the end of the day? Well, I’m the one heading that committee and I decide if your name makes it on the list of volunteers or “accidentally” gets left off the card. Kylie, you may be young, rich and beautiful but when your daughter goes to our private school, you’re on my turf! You can be the Queen of Instagram and on the front page of Forbes magazine. I am the head of one volunteer group at private school. That pretty much makes us equals. The president of the PTA nominated me for the job. It is because she believes in me and not because no one else wanted it.

Of course, if you decide to give me a shout out on your Instagram page, I promise not to leave your name off of the Teacher Appreciation Week card or give little Johnny anaphylactic shock on your kid’s birthday. I kid, I kid, I would never do those things.

LET’S BE BESTIES!

Secretly, I totally want to be your best friend. Best friends are loyal and have each other’s back. Best friends keep each other’s secrets. I won’t tell your secrets to any else, other than all of my other best friends that read this blog. To show that I really mean it, I’m going to make an Instagram post and tell all of my 38 Instagram followers how awesome you are. Oops, some people stopped following me. I will tell all 35 of my Instagram followers to follow you. If you feel the same, then you can tell your 130 Million followers to check out my Instagram feed. No pressure. Oh, and teacher appreciation week is next week.

PLEASE FOLLOW ME ON INSTAGRAM

You can follow me on Instagram at @ThePrivateSchoolMom

For everyone who isn’t Kylie, post your Instagram profile in the comments and I’ll follow you back, bestie! It’s OK if you aren’t in the Top 10 most followed Instagram accounts. I’m now up to 39 followers which means I should get a blue checkmark next to my name any day now.
